How To Start Strength Training For Women Over 40

Updated: 16 hours ago

Want to start strength training, but don’t know how?

Whether you’re in perimenopause or postmenopausal, strength training is one of THE most important forms of physical activity you can do.

Countless doctors and health experts recommend it.

Why is strength training crucial?

Strength training benefits many areas of your body. Two areas, in particular, that it benefits, and happen to be at a greater risk for deterioration if you’re a woman in midlife are:

  1. Muscle health - If you’re over 40 years old, you’re at a much greater risk of losing significant muscle mass. Muscle loss speeds up for women over 60 as well.

  2. Bone health - Women can lose up to 20% or more of their bone density in the first 5-7 years after menopause.
